Why the questions may be published here
The question catalogue is an official work within the meaning of § 5(2) of the German Copyright Act: it was published in the official interest for general information and may be used and distributed. On request, the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees confirmed that it has no objections to a digital learning service.
This comes with conditions, which this site follows:
- No changes (§ 62 UrhG). Questions and answers appear word for word as in the catalogue — in German, also on the English version of this site. Nothing is reworded, shortened or added, and there are no unofficial questions of our own. The answers appear in the official order; if you want to shuffle them for practice, you can switch that on yourself — it does not change the text.
- Source attribution (§ 63 UrhG). The source is shown in the footer of every page and with every question view.
- Correct solutions. Every question, every answer and every solution is checked automatically against the official catalogue before publication — character by character.
- Distinction from the BAMF. This site is clearly recognisable as a private service and does not look like a government website.
What is not official here
Explanations, memory tips, the study plan, all learning features and the English interface are this site’s own content. They are kept separate from the official text, marked as our own content and stored in separate files next to the catalogue — the catalogue itself remains unchanged.
Einbürgerungstest online üben is a private learning service. It is not operated by the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF), is not affiliated with it and has not been commissioned by it. You can practise here — you take the citizenship test itself at an approved test centre. The official BAMF service, including the official question catalogue and the online test centre, can be found at bamf.de.
